What is the Short Story (Elopement)

Some couples prefer a short and intimate ceremony with minimum legal wording, usually with just a handful of guests (up to 6) in a special location.  Sometimes this can be a surprise for family and friends who think they’re there for another reason, until…. it turns into something else.  Or it can be the perfect way for a couple to marry in front of their absolute nearest and dearest without including everyone they know.

This will involve 1 meeting in person to sort out the paperwork.  And follow up calls or video meetings to create a short and sweet elopement ceremony that is special to you as a couple. Your story, your vows: One of the most important components of a personalised wedding ceremony is the exchange of vows. Being able to express your love, commitment, and promises to each other in your own words, makes your ceremony unique. Whilst we must include the legal stuff, your vows can be traditional, fun, unique or whatever you would like from personal stories, to the “inside jokes” that only the couple know.

Rituals and Traditions: Another key component of a personalised wedding ceremony that some couples like to include, is the inclusion of rituals and traditions that are meaningful to you. Some of these might include a unity candles, sand ceremonies, handfasting or anything that is special to you or your traditions or heritage.

Your special touches: Finally, a The Full Story wedding ceremony allows you to add personal touches that make the day even more special and memorable. This could be anything from your favourite song as you walk down the aisle, having a friend or family member perform a reading, or including your children or pets in your ceremony.

What does The Full Story include?

  • Unlimited correspondence with you by email, phone & text
  • Meetings to discuss your special day as required (in person or video)*
  • Thorough explanation, preparation & correct lodgement of all legal documents
  • Advice on the Order of Ceremony, structure, and inclusions
  • Access to resources for, including vow examples, readings and rituals.
  • Personalised ceremony document preparation.  (Unlimited drafts until 2 weeks before the ceremony)
  • Keepsake cards for personal vows, poems and readings (if required)
  • Attendance at 1 rehearsal*
  • The actual Wedding Ceremony (up to 30 mins)
  • Following the ceremony, register the marriage with Birth, Deaths and Marriages.
  • PA system & microphone provided (if needed), with optional Ceremony Music

*(Travel and parking fees may apply).

  • Your choice of prewritten ceremony with the ability to include personal vows and readings.

  • The actual Wedding Ceremony (up to 15 mins)
  • Solemnise the Marriage at the venue*
  • Following the ceremony, register the marriage with Birth, Deaths and Marriages.

  • Meeting to discuss the ceremony as required and to build the life story of the person being farewelled (in person or video) *
  • Advice on the Order of Ceremony, structure, and inclusions
  • Access to resources including examples of music, readings and rituals.
  • Personalised ceremony document preparation. 
  • Design of keepsake or order of service cards for the ceremony (if required (printing additional at cost)
  • The actual Ceremony (up to 45 mins)
  • PA system & microphone provided (if needed), with optional Ceremony Music
